Albertila Orona

Albertila "Tillie" Orona, age 86, beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, May 21, 2015, while surrounded by her loving family.   She was born on June 18, 1928, and was a lifelong resident of Alameda, NM.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tobias "Toby" Orona; her parents, Jose and Sophia Maldonado; daughter, Sophia Sanchez; sister, Lucy and husband Gilbert Cardenas; and brother, Jose Maldonado Jr.  Tillie is survived by her loving children, Harold Orona, Larry Orona and wife Alicia, Walter Orona and wife Tammy, Toby Orona, Daniel Orona, Marion Cipriano and husband Rudy, Lillian Lucero and husband Patrick, Karen Griego and husband Carlos, Jacqueline Lucero and Rich Guzman, Charlotte Wright, Yvonne Thayer and husband Stuart; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are special nieces and nephews, Judy and Delbert Cardenas, and Ray and Anne Martinez; many other loving relatives, her four legged devoted companion, Blanca; and friends.  Tillie will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 9502 Fourth St. NW, where a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.   Final Viewing will be Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Svcs. - Alameda Mortuary, 9420 Fourth St., NW.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.  Internment will follow at San Carlos Cemetery.  Casket Bearers will be Larry Orona, Walter Orona, Toby Orona, Daniel Orona, Delbert Cardenas, and Ray Martinez.  Honorary Bearers will be Harold Orona, Anthony Orona, Danielle Miles, Austin Wright, Vicky Griego, Eric Griego, and Rosalie Contreras.
