Alex Lucero
July 3, 1942 — November 1, 2017
Alex Lucero, age 75, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 1, 2017, while surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of Placitas, NM. Alex enjoyed hunting, fishing, making wine, and relaxing at home with his family and friends; his pride and joy were his granddaughter and great-grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustin and Celsa Lucero; his two sons, Edward "Gino" and Leon Lucero; and sister, Lillian Garcia.
Alex is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Olojia "Logie" Lucero; his daughter, Roxie Montoya; and his precious granddaughter, Cassandra Crespin and husband Anthony; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Layla Crespin. Also surviving are his siblings, Charlie Lucero and wife Lorraine, Augie Lucero and wife Mary, Amy Davis; his four legged friend, Rusty; and other numerous relatives and friends. Alex will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Alex's nurse Karen with Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care given to Alex.
A Rosary will be recited Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at San Antonio Mission in Placitas, NM, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the Placitas Catholic Cemetery. Urn Bearers will be his Godchildren, Crista Solano, Robert Lucero, Greg Reams, Shirley Baldonado, Anthony Baldonado, Nathan Gutierrez, and Jennifer Lucero, Glenda Alavardo.
