Benjamin Rivera

Benjamin "Ben" Rivera, Sr., age 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, was taken to his heavenly home by the Lord our Savior, Friday, February 2, 2018.  Benjamin was born in Sile, NM and was a resident of Algodones, NM; and member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ricardo and Lucia Rivera; infant sister, Evangeline Rivera; and infant grandson, Marcos Duran.

Benjamin is survived by wife, Margie Rivera; four daughters, Laura Paez and husband Tim Sr., Evangeline "Vangie" Duran and husband Steven, Annabelle Lucero and husband Tim, Elizabeth Rivera; and son, Benjamin Rivera Jr. and wife Sue; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are his brother, Richard Rivera and wife Lillian; two sisters, Delphina Rivera and Teresa Bustamante; and numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.  Benjamin will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be will be Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services - Alameda Mortuary, 9420 Fourth St., NW, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Final Viewing will be Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino Del Pueblo in Bernalillo, NM where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at the Sile Community Cemetery in Sile, NM.  Casket Bearers will be Ronald Rivera, Steven Duran, Tim Paez, Tim Lucero, Timothy Paez, Lorenzo Duran, Fabian Rivera, and Shay Johnson.  Honorary Bearers will be Esperanza Duran, Santana Sheehan, Selena Rivera, and Shyann Rivera.
