Charlie graduated from Alamosa High School in 1977, stepping soon after into a life dedicated to service. He honorably served in the United States Army, where he was deployed overseas in Europe and South America. Over his distinguished military career, spanning more than 20 years, he earned numerous awards that reflected his dedication and excellence. Following his military service, Charlie continued to serve his community through 15 years of civil service at Kirtland Air Force Base, where he garnered various accolades, showcasing his commitment to duty.

Beyond his professional achievements, Charlie had a wealth of interests that enriched the lives of those around him. He was a passionate supporter of the Denver Broncos and took immense joy in cooking for his family. He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, often sharing stories and laughter around the dinner table. An adventurous spirit, Charlie loved to go camping, hunting, and fishing, creating lasting memories in the great outdoors.

Charlie is preceded in death by his father, Walter H. Martinez, and his mother, Rose Martinez. His legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
