Obituary

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of David Eloy Lucero, on August 2, 2026, at his place of birth in San Ysidro. Davids's life was defined by his kindness, strength, unwavering love for his family and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate to know him.

David was a proud graduate of Bernalillo High School class of 1955. He carried with him a deep appreciation for life and the outdoors. He found happiness in nature, especially while hunting and fishing. For 15 years, he was a valued member of the Weapons Project at Los Alamos. He was also a devoted member of San Ysidro Catholic Church, he lived his faith and believed in helping others. He was a proud contributor of the Wounded Warrior Project, honoring and supporting those who sacrificed in service to our country.

For 21 wonderful years, David shared a loving and devoted marriage with his beloved wife Hope Lucero. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love.

Above all, David treasured his family and friends. He was a loving son, loyal husband, father, great grandfather and friend. Though our hearts are filled with sorrow, we take comfort in knowing that Davis's legacy lives through the lives he touched, the values he shared and the love he gave. David will be deeply missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to meet him. While he may no longer walks beside us, his spirit will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

He was survived by his wife Hope Lucero, his children Steve Lucero, David Jr, Dennis and Bernadine.

He was preceded in death by his father Eloy Lucero, mother Fabiola Lucero, his 1st wife Virginia Lucero and daughter Barbara.
