Diego Gauna

Diego Jose Gauna, age 23, beloved son, father, and brother, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015.   He was born in Albuquerque, NM on February 8, 1992.  Diego graduated from Bernalillo High School in 2012.  He enjoyed fishing, drawing, rapping and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers, Diego  Gauna and Joe B. Martinez; uncles, Joe Chris and Jonathon D. Martinez.  Diego is survived by his loving parents, Marino R. Gauna, Bonnie Melon and husband Ben; his precious daughter, Yezzika Tatyana Gauna; his sister, Kimberly Delara and husband Vincent; brother, Lorenzo Sierra; nieces, Hailey Sierra, Mariah Gauna and partner Elizabeth Diaz; nephew, Brandon Gutierrez; cousins, Eric Martinez, Christina (Tini), Jose Lopez; maternal grandmother, Del Marie and Bobby Aragon; step-sisters, Selina Lujan and Bridgette Sanchez.  Diego will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 301 Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Final Viewing will be Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery.  Casket Bearers will be Brandon Gutierrez, Jose Saavedra, Kyle Peralta, Josh Mirabal, Jose Lopez, O.J. Bain.  Honorary Bearer will be Eric Martinez.
