Dora Gurule

Dora A. Gurule, age 94, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully,  Wednesday, March 16, 2016, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Corrales, NM on July 24, 1921, and was a resident of Alameda, NM.  Dora enjoyed playing Bingo and considered herself to be a "Chartered member of Sandia Bingo".

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Rita Armijo; her husband Epifanio Gurule, Sr.; and a daughter, Viola Ann Gurule.  Dora is survived by her loving sons, Epi Jr. (Priscilla Romero), LeRoy (Jill), Jerry "Lee" (Suzana), and Jose "Joe" Gurule all of Alameda; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are her sisters, Chonita Lucero (Ramon), Albinita Lucero, and Lydia Santillanes; her brother, Ernest Armijo (Nora); and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.  Dora will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

A Rosary will be recited Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth St. NW, Albuquerque.  Service of Christian Burial will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. also at the Church.  Interment will follow at San Carlos Cemetery.  Casket Bearers will be Alex Gurule, Gabriel Gurule, Dennis Gurule, Joe Sanchez, Don Maez, and Clinton Silver.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the InnovAge Greater NM PACE, to the staff of Casa San Pablo and to Skies Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, for the loving care given to Dora and her family.
