Eduvijes Saiz

Eduvijes "Vickie" Saiz, age 87, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully Thursday, September 20, 2018. She was born on August 10, 1931 and was a lifelong resident of Corrales, NM; where her family farmed for many years.  Vickie retired after 20 years of service with the US Postal Service.  After retirement Vickie and her husband traveled for many years throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  Vickie was a past member of the American Legion Post 69 Women's Auxiliary, and a member of the SNMDMP #2 Society.  She enjoyed visiting with her friends at the Corrales Senior Center.  Vickie lived her life to the fullest keeping active in her Church and community.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Julian Saiz; her parents Guadalupe and Maranita Gutierrez. Eduvijes is survived by her daughter, Juliet Marquez and husband Frank; her son, Benjamin Saiz; and her grandsons, Jon-Paul, Anthony and Andrew and companion Tiffany; ten great-grandchildren; and her primo, Mike Griego. Vickie will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at San Isidro Catholic Church in Corrales, where a Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. and followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.  Inurnment will take place, Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
