Florencio Sanchez, Sr, 89, passed away on September 11th, 2026 in his home in Corrales, NM surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Manzano, NM, he is survived by seven children, Florencio Sanchez, Jr. and wife Anita, Rosa Sanchez, Steve Sanchez and wife Liz, Maria Furne, Lawrence Sanchez, Nancy Sanchez, Frances Dupre and husband Jack; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Sanchez, his parents, Francisco and Maria Agada Sanchez, and brothers and sisters, Miguel, Ernesto, Brigida, Telesfora, Eugenio, Regina, and Oralia. Florencio was a devoted grandfather and held his family close in his heart no matter the relation. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, his love of his grandchildren, and his ability to bring people together. Pallbearers will be Christopher Benavidez, Rey Sanchez, Joseph Sanchez, Andrew Sanchez, Johnathan Furne, James Furne, and Jude Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be Antionette Sanchez, Angelica Anaya, Andrea Sanchez, Tara Sanchez, Naomi Dupre-Edelman, Julie Dupre, and Jessica Furne. A Rosary at 8am and Mass of Christian Burial at 9am will be had at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114, on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026.
