Harold Joe, a beloved son, brother, and father, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, leaving a legacy of artistry, passion, and love for the Cowboy way of life. Born on October 1, 1964, Harold embraced his heritage as a member of the Salt People Clan for the Black Streak of the Forest People Clan, a proud reflection of his deep connection to both culture and community.
As a talented artist and silversmith, Harold expressed his creativity through his stunning works, each piece telling a story drawn from his experiences and love for life. His passion extended beyond art to a profound appreciation for animals, especially his cherished horses, whom he cared for with unwavering dedication.
A true cowboy at heart, Harold carried the spirit of the West with him wherever he went, always donning his western attire, cowboy hat, and boots—a testament to his genuine personality and the life he adored. He shared this passion with everyone around him, inspiring those fortunate enough to cross his path.
Harold leaves behind his beloved son, Harold Joe Jr., who carries forward his father's spirit, along with his brothers Harrison Joe, Harris Joe, Thompson Piaso, and George Piaso, and his cherished sisters Nora Morris, Laura Cruz, Rosita Chicharello, and Margie Piaso, all hailing from To'Hajiilee, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Katherine Joe, father John Joe, sister Bernita Williams, and brother Harry Abeita, several nieces and nephews, and his uncle, whose memory will live on in the hearts of his family. Harold's loss is felt deeply, but his spirit remains vibrant in the lives he touched and the art he created.
