Ignacio Jude
Cervantes
June 28, 1958 – April 29, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Ignacio Jude Cervantes, a cherished soul who left us on April 29, 2026. Born on June 28, 1958, Ignacio touched the lives of many with his enduring kindness and spirited zest for life. A proud graduate of Valley High School, Ignacio devoted much of his working life to the Elks Club, where he was known not only for his commitment but also for the warmth he shared with colleagues and community members alike.
Ignacio was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life: he loved listening to music that stirred his soul and delighting in the camaraderie and thrill of watching sports. These passions were threads woven through the fabric of his everyday existence, bringing light and laughter to those around him.
He is remembered fondly by his sisters, Christine Cervantes, Alice Mora, Dolores Cuellar, and Adele Cervantes, who carry forward his memory with love and cherished remembrances. His legacy is also embraced by his nephew Christopher Cuellar, his great-nephew Ryan Cuellar, his niece AnAlicia Mora, and another great-nephew, Elijah Mora, all of whom held Ignacio dear.
Ignacio was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ignacio and Elvira Cervantes, and his brother Joseph Cervantes. Their memories are eternally woven into the story of his life, their spirits enveloping him in timeless familial love.
The community is invited to honor Ignacio’s life through a series of services held on May 15, 2026. The day will begin with a Rosary at 8:00 a.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church-Alameda, located at 9502 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. This will be followed by a Mass at 9:00 a.m. in the same sacred place, offering space for friends and family to gather in reflection and prayers. The final farewell will commence with the burial at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102, where Ignacio will be laid to rest.
As we say goodbye to Ignacio Jude Cervantes, we hold tight to the warmth of his memory, his laughter, and the love he so freely gave. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those privileged to know and love him. May he rest in peace, wrapped in the gentle embrace of eternity.
