James Chavez

It is with great sadness that the family of James Manuel Chavez announce his passing. James was born on August 31, 1975 and was called home on March 23rd, 2019 after suffering a fall. James was a native New Mexican loved by all for his great wit, charming smile and open heart.  His kindness and love was such that upon his death he chose to donate his organs that others may live.

He is survived by his parents Francisco and Laura Ortega; his stepfather, Emilio Chavez; his son, Isaac Montoya and his daughter, Aveena Pohl; his brother, Jason Frank Ortega; his sisters, Francine Sedillo (Mike),  and Rosalie Hipple (Brian); his girlfriend, Mary Therese One Bear; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was greeted in heaven by his niece, Renee Guadalupe Sedillo as well as a multitude of beloved family members with whom he was embraced in love.

We thank all of you who have been so loving and kind to us in our time of sorrow. Your prayers, loving words and actions give us hope for our future. Without your support we would be lost.

A Rosary will be recited in his honor on Friday, April 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 9502  4th St. NW.  Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church, 6104 Taylor Ranch Rd. NW, Albuquerque.

Smile down on  us from heaven James and know that the passing of time may lessen our sorrow but never our love for you!
