With deep love and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our Mother Jennie Saavedra,
who left this world on April 5, 2026, at the age of 89.
Jennie was born on July 17, 1936, in Las Nutrias, New Mexico, and later became a longtime
resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She lived a long and meaningful life marked by strength,
resilience, and unwavering love for her family. Through the years, she witnessed so much
change in the world yet remained a steady and comforting presence to those who knew her.
Jennie dedicated many years of hard work and commitment before retiring from American
Furniture, where she was known for her strong work ethic and reliability. She took pride in
everything she did and carried that same dedication into her home and family life.
She was a woman whose love spoke through her actions. Jennie had a special way of making
people feel cared for—whether through her presence, her words, or the quiet ways she showed
up for others. Her life was rooted in devotion, and she gave of herself generously to those she
loved.
Jennie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved listening to music, dancing, and spending
time at the casino with her beloved husband. Those moments brought her happiness and created
cherished memories for her and her family. Above all, Jennie loved God. Her faith was a guiding
force throughout her life, and she found comfort and strength in her church and in prayer.
As a mother, she was a guiding light—offering support, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her
family was her greatest pride and joy, and she built a legacy not just in years, but in the lives she
touched and nurtured.
Jennie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Eliseo Saavedra; her
precious son, Geraldo Saavedra; her loving parents, Jose and Corina Sanchez; her
granddaughter, Samantha Saavedra; and her beloved son-in-law, Ernie Montoya.
She is survived by her loving children, Barbara Saavedra; Stan Saavedra and his wife,
Donna; Sandra Saavedra and her husband, Odalis along with her 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren,
and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as many extended family members and loved ones who will continue to
carry her memory in their hearts.
Jennie will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, her deep faith, and the enduring love
she carried in her heart. Those who knew her will hold onto the memories she created—the
laughter shared, the music she enjoyed, the dances she loved, and the comfort she brought simply
by being there.
Though she is no longer physically with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and all
who loved her. Her love remains a lasting presence, guiding and comforting in the days ahead.
She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.
