In loving memory of John Barreras (Johnnie), who passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2025.
Johnnie was a gentle and faithful soul whose quiet strength spoke louder than words. Loving, kind, he lived his life with humility and grace. His heart was deeply rooted in faith, and that faith shaped the peaceful way he moved through the world.
He was a devoted caregiver to his mom, a patient gardener, and a lover of music. Johnnie found joy in nurturing life and beauty in all its forms. At the piano, his gentle spirit came alive, filling rooms with melodies that reflected the peace within him. His music was another way he shared love from his heart.
As a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, he was deeply cherished by anyone who knew him. His calming presence, warm kindness, and quiet devotion will be forever remembered.
Johnnie was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary choir. He also belonged to the Christian Motorcycle Association of Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Son Crest riders of Chapter 77 and had many wonderful adventures with his Christian brothers and sisters. He enjoyed working at Casa de Benavidez with his Auntie Rita Benavidez and coworkers.
He will be greatly missed, and his memory will live on through the love he gave and the lives he touched. We truly believe he is in heaven with our father, Bilardo Barreras, and mother, Rebecca Barreras. He will be remembered by his family. He is survived by Theresa and Richard Bell and family, Claude Barreras and family, Steve and Shelly Barreras and family, Rose and Jim Randolph, Paul Barreras and family, Mary and Will Casco, and the Benavidez family. We will always carry the joyful memories of him in our hearts.
