Johnny Rusty Manuelito, 77, of To’Hajiilee, New Mexico, passed away in the early morning hours on February 7, 2020 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on April 9, 1942 in Crownpoint, New Mexico, the son of the late Joe Manuelito and late Annie Wero.
Johnny was a talented craftsman as a silversmith. In his young adult years, he served our country in the United States Army as military police; served as a Navajo Nation police officer, became an EMT in Crownpoint, and worked as a cook at the ToHajiilee Community School.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie T. Manuelito; three daughters, Elvera Manuelito, Charlene Manuelito and Manuela Renteria; and two sons, Travis Manuelito and Otis Manuelito; along with numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, the late Curtis Emmanuel Manuelito.
Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 1030 a.m. at Daniels ~ Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th Street NW, in Albuquerque. Interment will follow at 12:45 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, in Santa Fe, NM. Serving as Casket Bearers are Manuel A. Renteria, Chase J. LeClair, Issac Reese Barbone, Aaron Manuelito, Marcus Panana, and fabian Johnson. Honorary Bearers are Otis Manuelito, Travis Manuelito, and Ronald Saunders.
