Joe Bruno, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, faith, and love.
Joe dedicated 27 years of his life as a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Officer, serving and protecting his community with integrity, strength, and compassion. Beyond his badge, he was deeply committed to shaping lives in a positive way. As a coach and D.A.R.E. officer, Joe mentored and guided countless young people, leaving a lasting impact that will be felt for generations.
Joe was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Known for his strong presence, kind heart, and unwavering support, he was a pillar not only in his family but throughout the North Valley.
A faithful believer in Jesus, Joe lived his life grounded in faith, always striving to lead with love, humility, and purpose. His belief guided his actions and inspired those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Bruno; his daughters, Andreanna Bruno, Joann Bruno and Dominique Bruno; his son, Joseph Bruno and wife, Alyssa Bruno; his grandchildren, Brooklyn Bruno, Noah Martinez, and Jeremiah Bruno; and his great-granddaughter, Jazzlynn Bruno.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Bruno, his brothers, Richard Sanchez and Roman Sanchez and mother-in-law Ida Brown.
Joe’s life was a reflection of dedication, service, and deep love for others. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
