Jose Martinez

Jose Luis Martinez, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, age 68, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020.   He was born in Monticello, NM and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM.  Jose retired from Penske Truck Leasing as a Diesel Mechanic.  He was a proud and diligent mechanic and was awarded many Diesel Mechanic certificates.  Jose was a member of Teamsters Union Local #492.  Some of Jose's hobbies and interests were hunting, fishing, and camping with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose, Sr. and Marianna Martinez; son, Jose Martinez, Jr.; sister, Blanca; and brother, Lalo; father and mother in-law, Don and Molly Montoya.

Jose is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Rebecca Martinez; his children, Rachel (Daniel) and Adam; his grandchildren, Jolene and Chris; and his great-granddaughter, Reign.  Also surviving are his siblings, Geno (Fernando), Cande (Rafael), Rosa, Chuy; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  Jose will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.

A Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM 87004, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m.
