Joseph Gene Vigil (Geno) February 1, 1956-March 15, 2024

Gene J Vigil, 68, of Guadalupita NM, loving Husband, Father, and Grandpa passed away in Albuquerque of Natural Causes on March 15, 2024. He died peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Taos NM on February 1, 1956, to Alfonso and Frances Vigil, and lived in Rainsville NM with his Wife Pauline. Gene developed such and strong work ethic from his father when he was young and upon graduating from Mora HS, he earned a certification in welding from Luna Community College, he was a logger and Forest Firefighter for over 20 years. His passion for nature was strong, he would spend all his time in the beautiful mountains of Northern NM gathering his Vigas, Latillas and Christmas trees. He had such a great passion for cars and trucks and every single one he owned was his favorite.  His greatest joy in life was being a father to Amanda and Ryan and Grandpa to his Dylan. He loved them and was so proud of his children and their accomplishments.  The day he became a grandpa to Dylan was one of the best days in his life.  He was so protective of his children, grandson, and family.

Dad, our parting is not the end of our relationship, only an interruption, until we meet again in paradise. We will always remember the times we shared together, and we promise to keep your memory alive here on earth. We Love you, Dad!  

Gene was preceded in death by his Parents Alfonso and Frances Vigil, Sisters Judy Vigil, Barbara Gallegos, Brothers Elmer Vigil, James Vigil, Nephew Eric Vigil.

Gene is survived by his Wife Pauline, Daughter Amanda, Son Ryan and Fiancé Stacie, and Grandson Dylan. His brothers Richard, Henry, Louie, Herman. His sisters Violanda, Cathy, Geraldine, and numerous nieces, and nephews.
