Louisa Salazar

March 8, 1926 — January 31, 2016

Louise "Louisa" M.G. Salazar was born March 8, 1926 in Dawson, NM.  She went to be with Lord at the age of 89 on Jan. 31, 2016, while surrounded by her loving family.  When Louise first came to Albuquerque she lived in the Barelas neighborhood, later she moved to the North Valley and has been there ever since.  She was a member of the American Legion Post #100 Women's Auxiliary.  Before retirement she worked in the food industry and Mom will always be remembered for her hospitality and open kitchen, every time someone would visit there would be something for them to eat or some coffee.  She was always open for food, conversation, telling jokes everyone was always welcomed.

Louisa is survived by her children, Gloria Garcia, Adolfo (Ashley), Ramona, Richard, Jason (Dolores), Belinda Gallegos (Arthur), Lisa Moya, Danny Moya (Kimberly), Thomas Gonzales, Brandi Clark, Deidra, Maria Nici Moul (David), Becky Lawrence, Susan Candelaria (Reg), Cruz Gonzales (Darlene Chavez), Angelique, Hope Stevens (Randy), Elizabeth Wilson (Ray), Elizabeth Trujillo (Demetrio), Joe, and Isaac.  Louise is also survived by her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; her loving brother, Leandro Martinez (Bridgett); and by her many nieces, nephews, last but not least, her beloved Rocky.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Darlene “Dar” Chavez for always being there for our Mom.  Dar, mom’s constant companion, best friend, her caring angel to the very end.  We appreciate everything that you did for Mom. Thank you for being there may God truly Bless you real good.  We would also like to give a Special Thanks to Sammi and Kris Armijo for keeping vigil with us those three long nights before our mom’s passing.

Visitations will be Monday, February 8, 2016 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9520 Fourth St., NW, where a Rosary will be recited at 8:00 a.m. followed by the Service of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.  Interment will be at 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.  Pall Bearers will be Adolfo Garcia, Richard Garcia, Jason Garcia, Daniel Moya, Joseph Stevens, and Isaac Stevens.  Honorary Bearer will be Demetrio Trujillo.
