Manuel Chavez, 66, of Bloomfield, New Mexico, has passed away on April 23, 2026. He was born on October 18, 1959, in Cuba, New Mexico, to Esteban Chavez and Elizabeth Chavez. Manuel worked on the oil rigs for many years. He was known as a hardworking man who truly loved his job. He enjoyed being outdoors, working on his truck, and spending time with his beloved dog, Tomas. The two shared many adventures together and were the best of friends. Manuel was raised in Cortez, Colorado, and later moved to New Mexico, where he opened a tire shop. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be remembered for his smile, contagious laugh, and the jokes he always shared with others. Manuel is survived by his children, Craig Chavez and Coleene Chavez; his brothers, Ronald Abe, Robert Yazzie, and Ken Yazzie; his niece, Carmelia Byers; two granddaughters and two grandsons; and his loving girlfriend, Roberta Marsh. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, one sister, and two brothers. Manuel is now reunited with his family in heaven and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
