Marcus Leija

Marcus Allan Leija, age 34, beloved father, son, brother, and grandson, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017.  He was a resident of Albuquerque, NM.  Marcus was a 2001 graduate of Bernalillo High School; and was employed by NICOR for over 13 years.  He loved spending time with his son, Marcus Jr., and enjoyed playing drums, listening to music; some his favorite movies were, the Star Wars franchise, and television series,  Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

He was preceded in death by his paternal-grandfather, John Leija; and his maternal-grandmother, Josefita Rael.  Marcus is survived by his precious son, Marcus Jr.; his loving parents, David and Dorothy Leija; his siblings, Valerie Lucrecio and husband Jeremy, Angelo Leija and wife Laura, Tessa Gamez and husband Joshua; his paternal-grandmother, Clarita Leija; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.  Marcus will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services - Alameda Mortuary.  A Rosary will be recited Friday, August 11, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth Street NW, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.  Interment will take place at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho.  Casket Bearers will be Angelo Leija, Jeremy Lucrecio, Joshua Gamez, Chris Chavez, David Olivas, and Cesar Mendez.  Honorary Bearers will be Valerie Lucrecio, Elijah Leija, and Tessa Gamez.
