Marlene Perez

Marlene Perez, age 80, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at her home, Saturday, May 20, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on September 25, 1936 in Albuquerque, NM and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM.  Marlene was a breast cancer survivor for 16 years.  She fought a good fight, but her body finally said it was time to go home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Perez, Sr; and a son Michael Perez.
Marlene is survived by her loving children, Barbara and husband Chris Carrasco, Daniel Perez, Kenneth Perez and wife Lulu, Manuel Perez, Jr. and wife Angel, and Ronald Perez and Angelina; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.  also surviving are her sisters, Viola Armijo, Geneva Perez and Yolanda Olguin; brother, Richard Lopez and wife Ruth; numerous nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and a host of lifelong friends and Church family.  Marlene will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. and followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m.  Interment will be at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery.  Pall Bearers will be Manuel Perez III, Ronald Perez, Jr., Shawn Maes, Chris Armijo, James Perez, and David Perez.  Honorary Bearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
