If you're reading this, God only takes the best and He has called me home; and I am now reunited with my parents, Moises J. Sanchez and Mary Garcia; brother, Tom "Taco" Sanchez; and my father-in-law, Rafael Sepulveda.
Morris James Sanchez, age 63, beloved and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 31, 2019; after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Ogden, UT on November 29, 1955. He married his best friend and the love of his life on April 20, 1974. After retiring as a welder the family moved to La Jara, NM; while living in La Jara Morris took up hobby of elk guiding, which was one of the may joy in his life. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. In his spare time he like going horseback riding, shed hunting and one of the most important joys of his live was taking his grandkids for ice cream.
Morris left this message for his loved ones. "While you're enjoying the great outdoors and the beauty that God has created for us, think of me, because that's where I will be; cry for only a little while because I'm now gone, but be happy that I'm there with you."
Morris is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Anna Marie Sanchez; his children, Mario (Jeanene) Sanchez, Melissa (George) Medina, Tonya (William Maestas) Sanchez; Marcus (Tiffany) Sanchez; 16 wonderful grandchildren. Morris will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.
Visitation will Friday, February 8, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Cuba, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Cuba Catholic Cemetery.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made in Morris's name at Wells Fargo Bank, (please contact the family for more information).
