Ray R. Jaramillo, a beloved figure to many, passed away peacefully on October 20 2024, at the age of 91. Born on April 18, 1933, in Cuba, New Mexico, Ray was a man whose life journey reflected resilience, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.
Ray early years were shaped by hard work and a deep-rooted sense of responsibility, values instilled in him during his upbringing. He served his country honorably in the Army, where he developed skills and a discipline that would carry him through life. After his military service, Ray found purpose and fulfillment working at the Duke City Lumber Company, where he applied his talents and influenced countless lives with his approachable demeanor and strong work ethic.
Ray's greatest pride came from being a devoted father to his son, Matthew, and daughter, Beverly. His children's happiness was paramount, and he cherished each moment spent with them. Matthew and his wife, Angel, along with Beverly and her husband, Richard Acosta, were blessed to have a father whose wisdom and laughter filled their homes with warmth.
As a grandfather, Ray's love expanded even further, embracing his grandchildren: Johnnie Rey Jaramillo and Alicia Reyes-Jaramillo. His legacy continued with his great-grandchildren Natalia, Andrez, Graciela, Johnnie Rey Jr., Anthony, Adrian, and Mario, who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.
Ray was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Emma, who was his partner in life's journey, and his parents, Ray Jaramillo Sr. and Azucena Jaramillo, who nurtured his character and spirit. His siblings, Georga Trujillo and Rosalio Jaramillo, survive him, sharing memories that will forever keep his light alive.
Ray R. Jaramillo's life was a testament to love, perseverance, and family connection. He leaves behind a legacy that will endure through the lives of those he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to foster fond memories and inspire those he loved. The warmth of his smile and the depth of his kindness will never be forgotten.
