Relene Dixon, born on October 6, 1950, in Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was the cherished daughter of Rel Ware and America Strattford, who predeceased her.

Relene dedicated over a decade of her professional life to the City Santa Rosa, and prior to that, she devoted 20 years to her work at California and Colorado Courts. Her education was extensive and varied; she graduated from Hobbs Senior High School in 1968 and went on to earn degrees and licenses from several institutions, including Pikes Peak State College in 1984, the Denver Academy of Court Reporting from 1982 to 1986, Eastern New Mexico University from 1968 to 1971, the University of Colorado from 1977 to 1978, Santa Rosa Junior College in 2002, and Jones Real Estate College in 1979, where she received her RSA License.

Relene was a devoted Christian and a proud Prayer Warrior who actively participated in her community. She volunteered at local community centers and was honored to be a member of the National Court Reporting Association, reflecting her deep commitment to her profession and her community.

Among her hobbies and interests, Relene loved building puzzles, finding joy in safari animals and the classic TV show Gunsmoke. She treasured long, happy phone calls with friends and family, enjoyed researching various topics, and had a passion for cooking and discovering new recipes. Her love for dancing, gospel music, playing the tambourine, and collecting hats brought light and joy to her life. Additionally, Relene found peace and strength through her bible study and enjoyed spending quality time with her family.

She leaves behind her loving son, Jack F. Dixon Jr., and her beloved daughter, Latonya S. Cliette. Relene was also a proud grandmother to Shanel G. Cliette, Lawrence Leon Cliette Jr., Cara, Marcus Hamilton, Selina, Manilla, and Charlize Hamilton. She is survived by her siblings Marvin Horrace, Juanita Winbish, and Doetta Strattford, who will fondly remember her warmth and guidance.

Relene Dixon's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her dedication to community service, and the profound impact she made during her lifetime.
