Rosella Valles Romero

April 18, 1951 — December 4, 2021

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother, Rosella Shella Valles Romero of San Antonio, NM.

Shella went to meet her Messiah Yeshua on December 4, 2021. Shella was born on April 18, 1951to Willie J. Valles and Eulogia Carrillo Valles in Veguita, NM. She was united 52 years to Luis Romero, and both had five beautiful daughters: Mary Antonette (Anto) Romero, Lia Ann Romero (Brad), Angela (Buffy) Julian (Joe), Martha Loy Romero (deceased) and Merlinda Torres (David).

She also leaves behind her pride and joys 14 grandchildren, Erika Hernandez (Dustin), Miranda Romero, Stephanie Lucchesi (Robert), Samantha Mundt (Cameron), Aaron, Deion, Devin, and Gavin Julian, Michelle and Daniela Rivera, Natalie, Tristin, David Jr. and Kassie Torres. 10 great grandchildren; Arianna and Matitiahu Hernandez, Ta'Lei Estrada, Isaiah Julian, Amaris Montoya, Mylah, Sienna, and Lorenzo Lucchesi, Chloe and Lucas Mundt and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Martha Loy, Sisters Leslie Gonzales, Cecelia (CC) Archuleta, Brother Felix Valles, In-laws Pablo M. Romero and Maria Louisa Romero, brother in-laws Raymond and Jerry Romero.

Shella was a 1969 Socorro High Graduate, married and became a farmer's wife, milking goats, a cow, herding sheep and raising a family. She loved it all! Before marriage, she worked in Socorro in her teen years at Shirley's Drive-In, Grims 5 and 10 cent store, the Loma Theater, La Casita Mexican Restaurant, and the Owl Bar and Cafe for 22 years. She was also a hard worker and taught her daughters well. She would tell us you never heard of anyone dying from hard work. Laziness kills you. She never forgot a birthday and always sending cards. She was a happy person, would make you laugh, and was always in good spirits.

She enjoyed all her hobbies, crocheting, sewing, crafting, gardening, making jam and jellies. Everyone's favorite tomato jam. Shella was a kidney recipient back in 2009. The donor was her eldest daughter Anto. Shella radiated love and kindness to everyone in her life.  Her absence will never go unnoticed, and her light will be missed. Mom we love you bunches "Love you more" she would say.

Private services for Shella will be held at a later date.

Please, no flower arrangements to comply with Ms. Romero's religious belief, however living plants will be fine.
