Ruby Sanchez

Ruby Sanchez, 102, of Albuquerque went peacefully with her Lord and Savior surrounded by family November 27, 2016.  She was born in Canon De Jemez on July 26, 1914. Ruby was an active member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Las Carmelitas, and Praying Mothers.  She was honored by the State of NM for the Centurion Award in 2014.  Ruby was the last surviving of the 13 Armenta siblings.  She was loved by many but more importantly she loved many.  Ruby believed the most important things in her live, were family and friends.

Ruby is survived by her loving husband, Eulogio M. Sanchez, (married March 17, 1970); her loving children, Casey Luna (Beverly), Richard “Dick” Luna (Kyoko), Bonifacio “Boni” Luna (Loyola), George Luna (Carolyn), David “Roy” Luna, Reyna Luna, and Jose M. Sanchez (Lupe); grandchildren, Debbie Johnson (Rod), Shalamaree “Sha” Luna-Hicks (Richard), Carisa “Risa” Luna, Marion Luna-Brem (Tim Fitzmorris), Mike Luna, Steve Wright (Robbie), Ron Wright (Kay), Loretta Romero (Adolfo), Patricia “Patty” McDougal, Joaquin Luna, David Luna, Andre Luna, Sonja Luna, Maya Fernandez (Gerardo), Marcos Sanchez (Angela), Jacob Sanchez (Christopher Gallegos); great-grandchildren, Aaron Luna, Rojean Gutierrez, Kenneth Luna, Koty Luna, Shannon Hicks, Tyler Hicks, Kasi Kress, Shane Luna, D’Amber Phillips, Taylor Luna, Brannon Brem, Travis Brem, Rebekah Best, Melita Lucas, Lauran Mueller, Michelle VanderGiesen, Eddie Luna, Patrick McDougal, Brian Luna, Nick McDougal, Isabella Luna, Aiden Luna, Ciera Luna, Rios Fernandez, Amalia Fernandez, and Andrew Sanchez; 27 great-great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are her beloved in-laws, Eliza, Juan, Lilo, Virginia, Melecio, Ricardo, and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Ruby will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

Visitations will be Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth St., NW, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Mass will be celebrated Friday at 9:00 a.m. also at the Church.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, located on Paseo Del Norte and Wyoming.

Casket Bearers will be Sha Luna-Hicks, Patty McDougal, Joaquin Luna, Maya Fernandez, Marcos Sanchez, and Andre Luna.  A Reception will follow immediately at the Nativity Parish Hall.
