Sequelito Gonzales

Sequelito Gonzales, age 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 10, 2017, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in San Ysidro, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque, NM.  Sequelito was well known for playing in numerous Mariachi groups throughout New Mexico and played every instrument.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Esequiel and Dulcinea Gonzales.

Sequelito is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ella Gonzales; his daughters, Geri Ynostroza and husband Chris, Elaine Diaz and husband Bill; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.  Also surviving are his brothers, Emilio and Tony; sister, Rita; and many other loving relatives and friends.  Sequelito will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be Monday, April 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth St. NW, in Albuquerque, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Service of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. also at the Church.  Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Chris Ynostroza, Jr., Armando Ynostroza, Steven Diaz, Mario Diaz, Harry Genero, and Gary Jaramillo.
