Stephen W Lopez, 74 years old, passed away peacefully in his home on May 9th, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Stephen was born in San Antonio, Texas and raised in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Stephen retired from Los Alamos National Labs in 2012. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles where he was past worthy president and state president, and a member of the Santa Fe Fiesta Council. Stephen is survived by his Son, Aaron Lopez and wife Melanie and their three children Marissa, Kassidy and Camden, daughter Stephanie Terchila and husband Max and their two children Aubree and Vance, and daughter Angela Lopez and child Kyleene and his brothers Bob, Paul and sisters Delia, Jayne and Marilyn. Stephen was preceded in death by his father Orel C. Lopez, his mother Emma J Lopez. Stephen was loved by many. He was a great dad, papa, friend, brother, uncle, neighbor to many people that will miss him deeply. Stephen enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow and hit milestones. He loved music and of course The Beatles were his favorite band. He played music until he couldn’t anymore. A viewing will be held May 20th, 2026 from 6pm to 8pm at Alameda Mortuary. Please join his family for a Celebration of Life reception in his honor to be held July 12th, 2026 at 1pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Santa Fe. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
