Celeste Rey Solomon

Celeste Marisa Rey Solomon was granted her angel wings on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the age of 35.

She was born on July 11, 1985 and lived her entire life in Albuquerque, NM.  Celeste was a talented softball catcher who competed on an ASA traveling team for several years growing up.  She had a passion for helping others and this was reflected in her career as a medical assistant.  Celeste had a creative mind and she enjoyed music and art.  She was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. Celeste was full of life and a “Rey” of sunshine with a laugh that was contagious.  She lit up every room and had a knack for making friendships with just about everyone she met.  Celeste is loved by many and will be missed by all.

Celeste is preceded in death by her brother, Danny Rey Jr.  She is survived by her parents, Danny Sr. & Cecilia Rey; two children, Jocelyn & Otis Solomon; brother, Michael Rey; paternal grandmother, Rosa Rey; maternal grandmother, Pauline Sanchez; and several extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews - all who loved her very much!

A viewing will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of  Daniels Family ~ Alameda Mortuary, 9420 Fourth St., NW,  where a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW, Albuquerque, 87105, with Rev. Andrew Pavlak, as Celebrant. Interment will follow immediately at Sunset Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Chris Cotinola, Curtis Taylor, Megan Freidank, Sammy Sanchez, Steven Bartosz, and Willie Fino.  Honorary pallbearers are Jocelyn and Otis Solomon.
