Donald Moore

April 21, 1939 — September 23, 2020

Donald Bruce Moore, was born on April 21, 1939 in San Mateo, California. He grew up in several communities in Central California and went to college at U.C. Berkeley at the height of the student rebellion.  He taught in a Bay area Community College for sixteen years before meeting, "the light of his life," Esther V. Cordova May. They moved to Cuba, New Mexico, where he taught in the local high school and operated the family ranch.  As a Geologist, Don wrote minor pieces on a variety of topics and continued his study in climate change.  After retirement from teaching, he continued ranching until cancer drove him indoors. His last project was editing his wife's two published books.

He enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hiking and meditating in a fashion more common in East Asia. He did not fish or hunt, because he had no need of such food or to prove our dominance. While he maintained a substantial ranch and contributed to its fulfillment, he never regarded it as his own.

Don passed away peacefully at home, on September 23, 2020, after a long battle with cancer.

Memorial contributions in Don's honor may be made to: Santa Maria El Mirador, Santa, NM or St. Jude's Children's Hospital - Cancer Research.
