She was an avid reader, proud of her Hungarian heritage, and enjoyed camping with her husband, Jim. Leona was an enthusiastic cook, taking gourmet cooking classes, watching cooking shows, collecting cookbooks, and cooking elaborate meals for family gatherings. All her life she was a volunteer. As an active member of her church, St. Luke Lutheran, she served on numerous committees and for many years chaired the preparation of food for memorial services and other occasions.
A memorial service will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church at a later date. For those who would like to make a memorial contribution in Leona's name, donations may be made to St. Luke Preschool at https://www.stlukeabq.org or sent to 9100 Manuel Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112.
